Onder Invloed is a project by journalist and filmmaker Matthijs van der Ven. The title is Dutch for ‘under the influence’. Since June 16th 2008, he filmed numerous international musicians covering their favourite songs in sessions and at Onder Invloed live shows. The first book, 'Onder Invloed', has been published in January 2012.

Last Thursday, the second edition of Onder Invloed at EKKO in Utrecht almost sold out. It resulted in a wonderful night with great shows with a very nice audience. An audience that was willing to listen. To Rue Royale, Marien Dorleijn, The Seventeenth Century and Ryan Joseph Burns. Inge Kattemölle was there to shoot photos....

ONDER INVLOED PRESENTS… THE MAILMEN SESSIONS: THE SEVENTEENTH CENTURY

Today is a good day. We as Onder Invloed launch a new series within the project. Producer Martijn Groeneveld has a studio in Utrecht called Mailmen Studio. Every now and again we’ll invite a band into the studio to record a live session, which will from now on will be known as The Mailmen Sessions....

I think it’s about time to start introducing the musicians that will play live at the Onder Invloed shows in Utrecht and Zwolle. This month we have live shows on Thursday the 17th (EKKO) and Friday the 25th (Hedon). Playing at both shows, on their second Dutch tour, is the Scottish band The Seventeenth Century....
