Onder Invloed

Onder Invloed is a project by music journalist Matthijs van der Ven, from The Netherlands. The project title is Dutch for ‘Under Influence’. The idea for the project started in the summer of 2007, while reading Bob Dylan’s ‘Chronicles’.

Dylan writes about the musicians who’ve been an influence to him in his younger years. Slowly, the idea came up to ask musicians to cover their favourite bands or singers, on camera.

The location is up to the performers to choose. It’s all about the songs, it doesn’t matter if it’s played in a studio, livingroom or outside in a park. The musicians play, Matthijs films. It’s as simple as that. Most of the bands like to record the audio themselves, which is, of course, even better.
