Last November, Otto ‘Lucky Fonz III’ Wichers told me about this very talented singer from London, England. Two emails later, Nat Jenkins was confirmed to play the Onder Invloed live show in Amsterdam in December.
After picking Jenkins up at Schiphol, we recorded this session at Ro Halfhide’ appartment, where also the sessions with Davie Lawson and Doghouse Roses were filmed. It’s always nice to record a session of one-takers. Jenkins recorded three covers and three of his own songs, which you’ll see on OnderInvloed.com later this month.
Both Ro and I were blown away by this session, and later, by Jenkins’ show at the Winston. And you will as well. First with these three covers of The Band, Neil Young and Tim Buckley, later with his own songs, and – maybe, just maybe – OnderInvloed.com and Jenkins will provide a free download soon.
Today, his debut single ‘Message’ is released, with b-side ‘Lost And Lonely, featuring The Kooks singer Luke Pritchard. He’s a busy man, Jenkins. Last week, he toured in Italy, this week he’s playing shows in Paris, London and at SXSW in Austin, Texas USA. Take your chance and watch this session. Jenkins will be touring The Netherlands later this year.
